Louis is a child psychotherapist and social entrepreneur. He has worked with young people on the edges of society for almost 20 years. He is co-founder of Bounce Works, a social enterprise that combines heart-centred design with digital technology to create accessible solutions to the crisis in young people’s mental health.
Their first digital service, Apart of Me, helps young people cope with grief. It was shortlisted for a Bafta, won some other awards and has seen over 70,000 users around the world in the 4 months since launch.
Louis will look at the different challenges and opportunities emerging in the 21st Century in terms of how we can support children through grief and trauma. He will look at how children and young people are grieving more online examining the benefits and limits to that approach and how this may increase our children's susceptibility to trauma-like symptoms.
Louis will also give a behind the scenes look at the creation of his app, Apart of Me - the world's first therapeutic game to help children cope with grief.
